Inspired by Dramabeans.

Boys Before Flowers
꽃보다 남자

I didn’t really enjoy it like I thought I would. Hana Yori Dango was not my fave, but I thought the Korean version would be better. I lost interest around episode 7, and no matter how many times I came back and tried to watch it again, it could hold my interest.

Rating: 6/10

Brilliant Legacy
찬란한 유산

Rating: Not Complete

Coffee Prince
커피프린스 1호점

The very popular and much raved about drama was cute, but not captivating to me. I watched ever episode forcibly, not because I was dying to know what happened, and in the last episode, my interest had all but died in the show.

Rating: 6.5/10

Crazy For You
사랑에 미치다

The premise of this drama was pretty wild. Falling in love with the man who accidentally murdered your husband. Unfortunately, the drama was not rewarding and halfway through becomes a real drag to watch. The ending doesn’t make up for what the drama throws at you.

Rating: 5/10

I watched this drama randomly one day and fell in love with it. Lee Eun Joo is great in this drama, and I was really sad to find out she had committed suicide in real life after working on it. The storyline is great, it really shows how cruel life can be sometimes, and also how every decision we make can effect us for many years to come. The contrast between crazy in love and the desire to run from it. The main thing with this drama is that “love is timing” and that depending on where we personally are with the person we love, love can either blossom or crumble.

Rating: 9.5/10

Que Sera, Sera

I’m going to quote someone from Soompi: “Que Sera, Sera is meant to capture cruel reality. Nothing more, nothing less”. Sometimes this is great and you connect to it in a way that you could not connect to a fairy tale story, sometimes it is a disappointment as many things in reality tend to be. The acting is great, I fell in love with the OST (lots of good American songs that I never really listened to before mixed in).

Rating: 8.5/10

Stairway to Heaven

천국의 계단

This drama was a crazy roller coaster. Every episode drove me into realms of sadness I did not know even existed. The drama does give you some breath scenes though which you appreciate so much before you get jerked around again. I really felt for the characters and the writers played the plot out in a perfect way that you could never see coming.

Rating: 9.5/10

Summer Scent

This drama has potential, but the latter half of the drama is a real turn off. It seems the characters always cast aside how they feel and allow themselves to be manipulated by others, and the whole show only gives you a small glimpse of their love being strong enough to deal with what battles it.

Rating: 7/10

Winter Sonata

I was already warned about many of the events in this drama that make people hate it before I watched it, but I still decided I would watch and I’m still glad I did. The early, light hearted episodes are really great and although the rest of the episodes can be draggy or really intense, you keep watching because that childhood love still lives inside their hearts.

Rating: 6/10

Hana Yori Dango

Stand Up!!

My first Asian drama and pretty funny as well. The storyline was cute and you come to really like the characters in this short summer drama.

Rating: 9/10
